We all wish we could sound exactly like our favorite pop stars and artists but unfortunately, not everyone can sing( including me) however being a good singer takes more than talent it involves some techniques which can significantly make your voice stand out from the rest.
Are you looking to be a better singer? well, you are in the right place. After reading this guide you will know exactly what you need to do to melt people’s hearts with great vocal skills.
It is important to know that if you are looking to significantly enhance your vocal capabilities the number one thing which is more important than you think is consistency. Now without wasting any more time let’s get to the 5 steps that will make you stand out from other people.
1. Find your original Tone and Stick to it
Now, Generally, most people want to sound like their favorite artists, which is absolutely normal and fine because the reason why they want to sound like them is that of how good they are, however, this is not the best way to go about things especially if you want to sound better than anyone else.
Finding your tone and sticking to it will make you 10x better than trying to copy the tonality of someone else. This might not be the easiest thing to do but once you stay consistent and use your tone more often. You will find that you sound even better than you actually think.
You original tone will sound genuine and really smooth even on high pitch notes.
2. Always be open to learning and practice more
I know the phrase “practice makes perfect” is a little bit overused but it stays true to singing, most people who are fairly talented get complacent very quickly and assume that since they naturally have a great voice then there is no use to practice right? wrong.
one of the recognized best singers in the world didn’t just sit there and say ” I already got this covered” in fact they will tell you from time to time again that nothing comes above practicing and being eager to learn more.
What makes practicing important? well, think about if you practice at least 3-5 times before you start performing to your audience. You will feel more confident because you know very well that you did it earlier and that gives you a competitive advantage over anyone else.
From time to time most people sound half as they potentially should due to nerves which are absolutely normal to have but with good practice. You will be good to go. That is the same reason I mentioned the importance of consistency at the beginning of this post.
3. Believe in your ability to sing
We all have this negative voice inside our heads telling us how bad we are at things without recognizing the positive or the good. That is why confidence is a must have if you want to improve your singing skills and performance by believing in your own true amazing voice not only you will sound better but you will also feel better and as a result, your performance will skyrocket.
I recommend that you use some positive affirmations like ” I know I am a great singer, so I can handle that”. You can come up with you own and say them whenever you are about to perform.
4. Warm up your voice
I am certain you know that warming up when are about to sing is crucial however most people overlook this step and byutilizing the right warm-up exercises for your voice. It makes your voice sound much better than most people. Think about it, if you don’t properly warm up your vocal box what will happen if you start to sing high notes? It will sound bad right? Exactly my point so please warm up!
5. Use Vocal Exercises to improve the quality of your voice.
There are a lot of exercise and techniques used to enhance your voice but one of the best one is the “ZzzZZZzzz” method. It was going to be harder for me to describe the method for you so I decided to embed a video that will show you how to do it.
Final Thoughts
I hope you found this guide helpful and feel free to share techniques you use before a performance.
